Hi All! It's hard to believe it is already October. This year is flying by! I thought I would update you on some of the things we have been working on. About every month or so, we set a goal we want to achieve as a class (e.g. knowing all of letter sounds, counting to 100, recognizing numbers 0-20). Once the students have met the goal, they will get to add something to our bulletin board to create a picture to display in our room. In order to reach this goal we will do different projects and activities that help us practice the skill. Afterward we will track our data in our data notebooks. For the beginning of the year, our classroom goal was for everyone to be able to write their name. When the students met the goal, they were given a large picture of a pencil that they wrote their name on in order to complete our bulletin board. We also worked on several art projects that had to do with their name. Almost all of our classmates have achieved this goal. Once we all know how to write our name, we will move onto a new goal and create a different bulletin board together. In the meantime, please enjoy the pictures of our classroom goal board and some of the various name projects we created.
